At last, i have a few days break... Happy Halloween everyone! Well, I didn't visit the cemetaries today coz all my dearly departed are back in the province so I just said a short prayer for all of 'em. Hmmm... Gosh! I missed the yearly Halloween episode of Magandang Gabi Bayan! Darn! I nevr miss it... ever! Now the chain is broken... Huhu... Oh well...

What's keeping me busy??? Hmmm.. lemme see... got a couple of gigs and shows lined up... but what keeps my wheels running right now are the line ups for the upcoming concerts! Woo-hoo! I'll be having a 2-day Christmas concert in Iloilo on the 16th and 17th of December. I think they're calling it "Christmas with the Voice". Naks! And another Iloilo concert this coming February 2006! It's going to be a big thing coz it'll be sponsored by St. Paul's College... I think it's their anniversary. Well, I make it a point that I'm "hands on" in the choosing of songs, the set, the scripts, the theme... dapat ma-iba! And it has to cover everything! Who knows baka in the future at di na ako front-liner, maging concert director na lang ako! Wahahaha! I'd love that! O sya! Hope you guys in Iloilo can watch the coming shows! Ciao for now!

Okay... I've been on the net since 'who knows when' researching for websites, pages and possible ideas. I've finally decided to put up one of my own. Hehehe.

There's a whole lot of styles and designs out there that i really like and mixing them up in one site would look much of a mess! I just can't decide! Help!!!

Hmmm... yeah, yeah... I know what they'll say... "Fit it to your personality..." Sure, sure... like what??? How??? Hmmm... Basing there, it's gonna get more difficult... hehehe.

First, I gotta find someone to make it... then brainstorm on how it's gonna look... then actual work begins... then maintenance... hmm... sounds easy... not!

COULD I SURVIVE AMERICAN IDOL??

I think i came across a lot of reality based tv shows today... and we can't deny that it's really getting a grip on everyone's lives.

There's Survivor, Temptation Island, Outback Jack, etc. ... but American Idol probably tops a fairly big percentage of the audience nowadays.

I don't know if I could really see myself in that contest! Yeah, a lot of people have told me that "...you should be on American Idol.." and my usual reply would be a smirk and "i'm not American.." hehehe Gosh. I really dunno if I could take Cowell's remarks about me!!! I'd hit him with the mic! Kidding. The guy is a freaking "hope-basher"... and he gets so unreasonable and his comments has no basis anymore... just for the heck of saying bad things and living up to his reputation...

It's just so disappointing that he's paid millions to be a jerk... oh well.

But i admire these people who have the guts and do anything just to move a step closer to fulfill their dreams. Hats off to you guys! (As if any of them are reading my blog.. )

It's plain and simple, actually... just be focused... know what you want... stick to that dream...

... but of course be realistic.

I just browsed through my picture files and came across the ones taken during my 1st album launch at Dish a few years back. I couldn’t explain how I felt as I stood onstage performing for the press and for my family and friends. Yeah... yeah... I perform almost everyday but that night was really special.

Thinking about it right now, I really feel I am surrounded by people who really helped me and believed so much in me...

Ronnie Henares directed the entire show... together with his wife Ida...

Kuya Epoy Isorena was the stage manager for that event... he’s no ordinary stage manager... he does Regine’s, Lani’s and even Martin’s for a hefty sum!!! And for that night, it was for free!!! He even brought his entire crew! Thank you very much, Kuya...

Also, I was so happy to see my friends come and support my launch. They even went out of their way to do a number with me... Karylle... 604... and Lani Misalucha!!! She came the last minute already coz when I invited her, she had a booking for a show out of town! But she really came to grace the event! Wow! I really love singing with her! I miss her!

Also, Nancy Castiglione was there screaming her lungs out. Hehe I love you, Nancy!

But most of all, I owe a lot to Tita Bella Tan who didn’t give up on me... she believed in me so much... til now... she’s one of the few who’s still standing believing in a Jed Madela...

BOREDOM KILLS

Okay... time for posting!!!

Again, I spent the whole day in the confinement of my room and because of boredom, I turned it upside down again! I didn’t realize that I had so much stuff that I don’t use anymore! I filled up two “balikbayan” boxes with my “abubots” and “whatevers”! Hmmm... I think I’ll donate them to the tsunami victims! But on second thought, I don’t think they have use for stuffed monkeys, assorted paper weights and disco lights. Hehehe

I’m really trying my best to achieve a minimalist look for my room... like the ones on the pages of mags! One, it looks slick... and two, there’s less area for dust to “live on”. But no matter how hard I try to throw out stuff, they just keep on coming back! And I don’t know why I have this attitude of holding on to stuff even if I have never used it for quite some time.

Well, they say your room says a lot about your life. I don’t know how true that is but all I can say, my room is a mess! Is my life a mess??? No! I don’t think so... Ahmmm... disorganized, probably... but not a mess. Heehee
Okay, now it’s time to rummage through my wardrobe closet... Good luck!

Okay, okay... I’m not Superman.

I’m stuck here in my room down with the flu! Darn! I have been working since the holidays and I think I kinda got carried away. Doing two to three performances in a day for weeks is ridiculous! What was I thinking?? Even all the multivits and working out didn’t boost my immunity! Phew! That just simply puts it clear to me... SLOW DOWN, MR. MADELA!!! You are human! Got it? H-U-M-A-N!!! Got it? Huh??

Okay, okay...

I really got to put things on a slower pace and gotta get well for next month.

I just got my schedule (partial at that) for February and WHOA! ...I have never seen a lot of scribbles on the calendar! Aside from my regular gigs with Prime Council, I’ll be busy promoting my 2nd album in the major malls here in Manila (finally!)... plus radio and TV guestings. Good luck! And oh! Okay, so what happened between my last blog and now...

C - H - A - O -S ... chaos! Yeah, really...

The holiday month was really a roller coaster ride for me... Imagine having guestings and shows everyday!!! and not just one per day... 2 to three!!! Phew! Looking back, i couldn't imagine i pulled it off!

I even didn't have enough time to buy christmas gifts for everyone.. and drop 'em off... hmm... there's a lot more stocked under my bed!!! I'll drop 'em off soon...

... at least, I got to go home to the province and spend time with my family... Christmas was fun! I saw the "nut" in each and every member of my family... hahaha and i have pictures to prove it!

Too bad everything had to come to a close (yeah, right)... we ended it with a bang! Picture this... spending New Year in the white sand beaches of Boracay!!! Woohoo!!!

Anyway, I thank God for giving me the endurance and the strength to belt out my lungs in every show... twas hell of an experience!

NICE STORMY EVENING

I just had a wonderful evening...

I was invited to the wedding of two good friends who have been very supportive to me eversince...

Anyway, shame on me... i wasn't paying much attention to the wedding... hehehe i was seated at the second to the last pew texting... hehehe yeah... her.

It all started with the song "Fall For You"... then it led to a very... hmmm... deep conversation...

It was something different... something i shouldn't miss...

She barely has the time to spare to text me those long messages... she's really busy, you know...
but today, she was home... enjoying the rain and the much needed rest... and i'm happy she made me part of it...

so, i asked my aunt... "He'll understand naman no?" I was in His house! ... for a very religious ceremony... and there I was texting her... hehehe I know He'll understand. Thank you, Lord!

The exchange of texts were really... phew... making my heart beat fast. "Iba na to!"

The texting continued til the reception... and I just couldn't bear not calling her... so before i had to go onstage to sing, I just had to call!

Hehehe And onstage, while singing, I just had to call her again and make her hear me sing...

She's the sweetest... her concern just melted me...

My night ended with her "good night" and a couple sweet words...

Hey peeps! For those asking about the scheds for the promo of my 2nd album, it'll be finalized and posted early january. Bookings for December is overflowing so we weren't able to squeeze in scheds for the album promo. I really hope you keep posted for that...

I'll be having tours in all the major malls in the country and radio and tv guestings also... plus i'll be doing bar tours for those who are into the nightlife gimiks. The major launch will be announced soon!

IT FELT REAL! YIKES!

I just woke up... yeah, yeah, I know it's past noon... that's how i am. My body clock is totally messed up... i'm a vampire... you just don't know it... bwahaha... anyway, enough of that...

Gaad! I had the weirdest dream last night. I dreamt that I was on vacation (not sure what country it was, though... i guess some place that has really, really tall skyscrapers...) ... and i visited this really tall building. So, like the usual tourist, complete with camera and all, I went inside the elevator. I knew that we were going really high coz i felt the pressure changing! Finally, the elevator door opened and I felt the strong wind... and when I looked out, we were on top of the world!!! The scary part... no railings!!! And the floor area was just a couple of feet going around the elevator shaft! I held on tight onto the walls! Gaad! I felt my muscles ache coz of the gripping! I could even feel the tickle on my feet! Til now! Just the thought of it gives me the shivers! Yuck... I just had to wake myself up.

Okay... we're about to leave for the mall in awhile... We need to buy more material for my little girl's birthday party on Sunday. I spent the whole night making her invitation and whoa... it felt great when everyone liked it. But of course, she always has the last say... the colors has to be perfectly matched... the combinations studied well and most importantly, her picture super-imposed above anything else! Hehehe ... our little princess.

This afternoon, i tested my crafting skills once again making the castle to be placed on her cake... hmmm... i should've been an architect! Hehehe

I just got home from a party; the Marlboro Send Off Party! I received my VIP invitation a few days ago in the mail... and I remembered that I registered myself with the Marlboro Mailing List when I was in Boracay! Now I get free invites to all their parties and events!

Anyway, when I got there, there was this long cue of people trying to entire Le Pavillon... and me, being a hater of standing in line, considered the thought of going home and dropping the party! Twas a good thing a friend of mine, who was part of the event, called me on my mobile and asked me where I was. He fetched me from the entrance... hehehe... I didn't get to stand in line. Bleh!

The entire venue was filled up with people... or were they dragons? Smoke was puffing everywhere!!! Well, it's a Marlboro event, right? So I have no right to complain and give them the "don't blow your smoke in my face" stare.

Looking around, I saw everyone moving in sync with the rhythm of the DJ's beat; they had DJs from the USA and from UK. So, with my drink in my hand, I started to blend and mingle. It was really cool meeting new people! It's events like these that I appreciate and enjoy my "singleness", my "independence" and "freedom".... Yipee! Til the next party!!!

ORDINARY BLOG

The party just ended... but i spent most of my time here in my room finishing up some obligations that I have to start doing before they pile up and cause my hair to fall off!

Well, my uncle's dad celebrated his birthday here at home and I found it so difficult to stay away from the food! Gaad! Well, i didn't touch the rice... (good boy)... just had a couple of sticks of bbq, tuna belly and some crabstick and broccoli salad. That's it! I tried my best to stay away from the kare-kare! Hmmm... success. I feel good.

Anyway, after dinner, i went back in front of my PC and tried finshing my song line-ups for my upcoming special shows. I have this solo thing for the unveiling of the Ford Expedition 2005 next week... a guesting for the PARI Anti-Piracy campaign... acoustic gigs at Greenbelt and Westlake, The Fort... a wedding... and a whole lot more! Oh! And my album launch!!! Gosh, so many songs to memorize and so many for the band to learn. I just finished burning them their study cds. Yahoo.

Hmmm... maybe they have some leftover cake downstairs...

I just got home from a meeting at Universal Records and boy, I’m pooped! Traffic really sucks! You spend most of your time on the road!!! Yuck.

My second album was just released in all the record stores today (in the Manila area, at least… usually the provinces follow after 2 weeks or so). Anyway, I am so happy with the new album; the songs… the arrangements… the album styling… the pictures… Nice!!! I hope it’ll do better than the first one… not that it did bad… it did okay… I just hope the 2nd one makes pretty, pretty well!!!

Well, I wish more people will buy the album and request for the songs! But sometimes it just gets so disappointing when you tell people that your album is coming out and instead of the “normal” answer of “yeah, we’ll support and buy your album!”, they ask for their free copy! Are you for real???!!! Think!!!! A lot of people put in time, money, effort, sweat and blood just to come up with such project and you just ask for it??? How insensitive can you be??? Hmmm… Aw, come on!
Another instance… a booking agent called asking for me and my band to play for a big media company's Christmas party… and they quoted a very impossible talent fee!!! The catch, according to the agent, was its good exposure!!! Yeah, right! People will just say anything to get a free ride!!! How pathetic.

I just came home from an acoustic gig in Greenbelt! Hmmm... You know, these gigs are not that harassing... unlike the full band set-up. I guess it's because you just sit there and sing laid back tunes... and you're not given the load of making everyone stand up and dance! Ahmm...It's not that I don't like band gigs. I do, very much. I guess it just pays to have a little variation.

Today was a treat for me because after a week and a half of working every night, I get to stay home and relax!!! And while everyone is facing the traffic because of the All Souls Day Brouhaha, I get to stay home coz my dearly departed are all laid to rest in the province. God rest their souls…

Instead of the usual lounging and stretching in bed and getting my eyes sore with movie marathons, I decided to fix up my aunt’s house for the holidays. You know, there’s something about x’mas decors that bring back nostalgic memories. Is it the smell?? The texture of tinsel and plastic? The mix of red and green ornaments?? I really don’t know… but it brings me back to my childhood! Yippee!!! Christmas! Actually I get mixed feelings thinking about the upcoming season… happy - coz everyone’s so jolly and light-hearted and seems to be sharing the brotherhood spirit and on the other hand, sad – coz there goes my bank account! Ehehe. I don’t wanna sound stingy or something but reality bites!

As I tap on the pc keyboards right now, I can’t help but feel my fingertips ache a bit… come on, I’ve been twisting wires and replacing busted x’mas light bulbs for the past hours. But despite of the discomfort, looking at the outcome makes it all worth it!

After a month and a half of not writing anything in this blog, i finally came across the small "Favorites" cursor and realized I have an account here. Hehehe Anyway, the past weeks have been a bit hectic for me... having shows almost everyday! I'm not complaining, okay??? I'm having fun! Not to mention the "ka-chings!!!" Hehehe

I spent the entire Sunday at Greenhills browsing through every stall and store to find whatever will tickle my fancy. Upon entering, i was greeted by louds screams of "Mam, Sir! Mam, Sir! Shos, Bugs, Wutchis, Anderwers!!! Ma'am, Sir!!!" from girls posted in long aisles of shoe and bag kiosks. It was an imitation haven of designer bags and shoes!!! Oh well, while browsing through the goods, I just couldn't believe that these imitations have little difference from the real ones! The only big difference is the price! I ended up buying three pairs of shoes!

After that area, further inside, you'll find more products! ... clothes, imitation perfumes, furniture, electronics, videos... the list is endless! Oh well, my entire earnings for the week was as quick as 1, 2, 3... Hmmm... what's the use of money, right???

Oh, Christmas is drawing near!!! Greenhills is a good place to get good buys... you just have to know how to look around and have the patience to withstand the annoying men breathing behind your neck, "DVD, DVD??"

Just got myself a couple of new CDs! Honestly, instead of spending a sum on clothes or vices like cigarettes and booze, i splurge on CDs! Guess I was deprived of it when I was a kid. Harhar! Kidding. Hi Mom and Dad! Hehehe Anyway, among the cds i got, my fave would have to be the new Boyz II Men CD ; an all remake album! Whoa! Just like my upcoming one! I guess that's the trend now!!! Woohoo! I'm on track! Oh... okay... going back, the "boy band" album is really worth every penny... oh, centavo... coz all the tracks are well-loved favorites from the 7o's and 80's given the Boyz II Men flavor. An album worth buying... highly recommended!
